Mechanical Workshop

Mechanical Workshop – Conventional & CNC Machining (Training & Job Work)

Western Regional Instrumentation Centre (WRIC) houses a well-equipped Mechanical Workshop that offers both training programs and precision job work services using conventional and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines.

Training Programs

WRIC conducts hands-on training and certificate courses in mechanical machining, covering both traditional and CNC techniques. The program includes:

  • Lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding operations
  • CNC programming and operations
  • Safety protocols and measurement practices
  • Fabrication of components for laboratory and scientific equipment

These courses are suitable for engineering students, technicians, and trainees looking to build practical skills in machining and manufacturing.

Job Work Services

The workshop also undertakes custom fabrication and machining jobs to support internal instrumentation development and assist external institutions. Services include:

  • Precision turning, milling, and shaping
  • CNC-based component fabrication
  • Repair and modification of instrument parts
  • Prototype development for research projects

The facility supports ongoing R&D, laboratory development, and institutional maintenance needs with skilled manpower and modern tooling infrastructure.
