Instrument Maintenance & Repairs
The Technical Service Division (TSD) of WRIC offers comprehensive laboratory instrument repair services through its well-equipped facility, which includes advanced tools such as soldering/desoldering stations and digital oscilloscopes. The division handles the repair and maintenance of various instruments, including electronic, analytical, biological, and microprocessor-based equipment.
The primary beneficiaries of these services are undergraduate and postgraduate colleges affiliated with different universities, university departments, R&D institutions, and industries across the country. One key category of service is the direct in-house repair support provided mainly to the colleges and departments of the University of Mumbai and SNDT Women’s University. Instruments are regularly collected from these institutions, repaired at WRIC, and returned for a nominal fee that primarily covers the cost of components.
This initiative has significantly reduced instrument downtime, enhancing the operational efficiency of college laboratories. Additionally, it has proven beneficial to both students and faculty by ensuring better access to functional lab equipment.
