A number of training programmes including an eight weeks Certificate Course in CAD/CAM and CNC using I-DEAS software were conducted for students of B.E. Mechanical Engineering and other Technical courses.
The old CAD-CAM programme conducted at WRIC was based on IDEAS software which is now outdated. During this period the latest version of Pro-E Wildfire software along with 12 PIV Desktop machines have been purchased from the UGC grants earmarked under its equipment budget head. The Pro-E software with 10 user license is now uploaded onto a PIV server machine which is connected to these 10 PCs with Local Area Network (LAN).
All the staff members from Mechanical Workshop completed 8 days training programme in PRO-E wildfire CAD/CAM software organized by M/s. Adroitec Ltd. Three of the staff members underwent a three month training (certificate course) on Pro-E at I.D.M.E.I.
A training programme is being now planned with the help of experts from BARC and industries.
